Hey Mark. I have an XTX50 and I find it a bit heavy to travel with. I think you dive XTX50s? How would you compare the XL4 Ocea? Wondering if it could be a good regulator to switch to for travel as I believe it's a fair bit lighter (and may also help with jaw fatigue on longer dives). Thanks!

#ASKMARK Buying a 12ltr scuba tank (e.g. Faber steel cylinder)… I have an option for Air or Nitrox, if I want to use say standard Air fill (21%) and then sometimes up to say 36% Nitrox fill. Do I need to specify an Air or Nitrox tank. Can I use one tank for both Air and up to 36% Nitrox and what does the cylinder need to be (Air or Nitrox). If I buy an Air tank can I switch to anything below the 40% Nitrox or do I need Nitrox tank when buying? Or do I need it cleaned for certain fills below %40

Hey Mark,
Congrats on your new job :).
I was wondering if you prefer a metal or a neoprene Goodman handle for a primary dive torch and why.
Also, for the stupid question of the week, can a wetsuit be too thick for certain water temperatures? For instance, would diving in the Red Sea in a 7mm semi-dry be a bad idea?

#askmark. Hi, Good luck with Scuba Diving Magazine. My question is: Do I need to service my BCD as I need to service my regulator ?
#askmark After cleaning my BCD´s bladder I always keep my dump valves screwed off to let it dry inside. Should I store my BCD with the valves screwed on or off? Thanks for the amazing videos and safe diving!
Hi,
I was wondering if you could do a video on the History of SCUBA regulators and do a full review of the Poseidon Cyklon as it hold a special place in History. Looking at comparing it to modern Regulators.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the extremely useful videos. Do you store your dry suit with the zipper open or closed? How do you hang it / store it? The manufacturer of mine recommends storing it with zipper closed (Fourth Element Argonaut 2.0) yet instructor and other divers recommended storing it open for less tension/memory in zipper. Thoughts? Thanks.
#AskMark I was able to get a ahold of a MilSpec MTX (not the R or RC), and was mostly looking to use it in tropical water. In the past Q&As you have mentioned maybe getting MTX-Rs adjusted for summer time use, What should I say to the technician in order to get it tuned for warm water diving? Is it just dialling the Cracking pressure out?

Hi Mark! Thank you for the video.
I’ve recently heard about OSTC dive computer. What is the computer? Is it really as good for technical diving as Shearwater or Scubapro G2?
Thank you in advance
#askmark what’s your thoughts on the whole clean air nitrox andi. Seems like a scam
Thanks a lot Mark – really cool to hear your thoughts on the XTX50 vs Ocea!
#AskMark How long should I wait before investing in a BCD and Kit? I am going on my 20th dive soon and will be getting my advanced open water cert but I am still unfamiliar with so many different styles of gear its hard to know if I should just keep with what my dive shop rents to me.
Thank you Mark for the information. I am trying to fine tune my dive plane 👍
Hi Mark! Great video as always…
For a future video could you please clarify the way to use the cylinder valve. I was taught on my open water course that the cylinder should be opened fully and then turned back a half turn. I’ve since learned that the cylinder valve should be opened fully without turning it back (DAN website).
Diving recently in Egypt everyone was still turning the valves back a half turn. Could you clarify which technique is correct and tell us why please. Thanks in advance.
All the way open, always all the way open.
Yeah, as Team Peg Leg says, the current recommendations are to fully open your valves. The turn-back method can lead to confusion and a valve that it only slightly open in some circumstances. I’ll chat about it…
Hi Mark, thank you for this video, is the DST first stage compatible with the xl4 ocea second stage?
#AskMark You mentioned “former instructor”? Why don’t you teach anymore?
